For many business owners, finance can feel overwhelming. Cash flow, forecasting, governance, risk and growth all demand attention, yet employing a full-time Finance Director is not always a realistic option. That’s where Sue Weighell FCA has built her reputation.
As founder of Delta Solutions, Sue provides senior financial expertise to businesses, charities and employee-owned organisations, helping leaders gain clarity, confidence and control over their numbers. Her approach is straightforward, commercial and grounded in real-world experience.
Sue works alongside business owners, directors and trustees who want more than compliance and reporting. She helps organisations understand what the numbers are really saying, identify opportunities, manage risk and make informed decisions that support sustainable growth.
What sets Sue apart is her ability to translate complex financial information into plain English. Rather than simply presenting reports, she helps leadership teams understand the story behind the figures and use that insight to move their businesses forward.
But Sue’s impact extends far beyond finance.
A passionate advocate for collaboration and community, she helps run Handbags & Briefcases, a successful women’s networking group that provides affordable monthly events for women in business. She is also a director and shareholder of K-Club, a thriving Manchester-based business network that brings entrepreneurs together to learn, connect and grow.
Giving back has always been an important part of Sue’s journey. She serves as a trustee of both the Children’s Burns Foundation and NW Hearts Charity and remains closely connected to Smart Works Greater Manchester, where she previously served as a trustee and now supports the organisation as a member of its alumni network.
Behind Sue’s professional achievements lies a story of remarkable resilience.
Many years ago, shortly before her wedding, Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer. Facing treatment, surgery and uncertainty at what should have been one of the happiest periods of her life, she navigated the challenge with determination and courage. The experience shaped her perspective on life, strengthening her belief in the importance of community, support and making the most of every opportunity.
Today, those values continue to influence both her business and charitable work. Whether she is advising business leaders, supporting entrepreneurs through networking groups or giving her time to charitable causes, Sue brings empathy, insight and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
Through Delta Solutions, Sue continues to support organisations across the North West and beyond, providing flexible Finance Director services that deliver the experience businesses need, exactly when they need it.
For Sue, finance has never been just about numbers. It’s about helping people make better decisions, build stronger organisations and create lasting success.
